After turning in my Lexus lease, I needed to get my new Audi A5 Sportback windows tinted. I don't live in the Quad Cities anymore but often return. I originally called the Davenport location that did my Lexus but decided to call around after their price increase and limited availability. I ended up reaching out to Custom Whips. I was excited to save $30 over my previous quote and scheduled an appointment. Despite being closed on Saturdays, they accommodated me, which I greatly appreciated. However, there were some communication issues. Their front door was locked because it was a Saturday, and I mistakenly put my key in a USPS mailbox instead of their key drop slot. This caused a delay as I had to convince USPS to retrieve my keys on a Saturday. An issue that I felt shouldn’t have happened since I was on the phone with the owner specifically asking where to put my keys to make sure this mistake didn’t take place. The owner handled the situation calmly and maintained communication throughout, even though updates were sparse after 2 PM (the original timeframe he said the tinter would be working until) and as any customer knows over communication from a person you’re hiring to do a job is always appreciated and when you the customer has to reach out first it can add insult to injury. When I finally picked up my car, I noticed a scrape on the driver’s side rear bumper, likely from the tinting process. This vehicle was brand new and had less than 100 miles on the odometer from when it was driven off the dealership lot so the time driven factor as well as the scrape on the bumper being vertical scrape like something was dropped instead of a horizontal scrape like something that would happen happen with a pole or another vehicle added to my suspicions. The owner responded impressively, allowing me to get quotes for the repair and covering the $530 bill. I tried to do my part throughout the whole process by following my own expectations of over communicating about the quote I was getting to get that scuff repaired and ultimately the cheapest of the quotes that I had received. To help authenticate that I wasn’t trying to take advantage of a situation but because I genuinely believed that quote was the best person for the job. Despite the hiccups, the owner’s calm troubleshooting and dedication to resolving the issue earned my 5-star review. Custom Whips window tinting deserves your business for their excellent customer service and willingness to ensure a satisfactory outcome. Many businesses may have provided a better window tinting experience, but at the end of the day, no one can predict when things go wrong, and the professionalism provided when tinting the windows doesn’t matter if any of those other businesses would have gave me the middle finger when the unfortunate circumstance arose. Custom whips not doing that is why you should have full confidence in custom whips window tinting as your choice for what you need done to your vehicle.
